Ozone is a highly unstable natural gas composed of trivalent oxygen (O3) with great oxidizing power. In nature it is formed thanks to electric discharges during thunderstorms or thanks to the action of
ultraviolet solar rays. It is known that an ozone layer protects our planet from the violent UV-B sun’s rays, which are harmful to our health, while its oxidizing and disinfecting properties are less well known. Ozone is able to degrade and eliminate any polluting or harmful elements such as viruses,
mites, insects, spores, moulds, harmful chemicals and even smoke and bad smells, all in a totally
natural way. Being an unstable gas, a few minutes after use ozone is transformed into oxygen without leaving any kind of traces or chemical residues and without leaving unpleasant bad smells or stains on fabrics. As soon as ozone comes into contact with organic matter, an oxidation reaction is made.
Basically, all living microorganisms are killed, such as mites, bacteria, viruses, moulds, while the odour molecules are oxidized and transformed into other harmless molecules, this process eliminating all forms of bad odour. Since ozone is a heavier gas than air, it can penetrate inside the fibres of fabrics (mattresses, sofas, armchairs, carpets, car interiors, and especially helmets and shoes…). In this way it reaches and eliminates any microorganism and foul-smelling substance present even in the most difficult to reach points, impossible to thoroughly sanitize with a classic wash, however meticulous and accurate. Ecologically and naturally eliminates bacteria, viruses, mites, moulds, fungi, spores and all kinds of parasites.
